Have you thought about doing a lightning talk? A great way to get your
first conference talk under your belt is to make a quick 5 minute talk
about something you are passionate about.

The BSDCan Lighting talks are 30 minutes of short talks; time will be
divided equally between them.

Maximum of 6 speakers, so at least 5 minutes per talk.

To register, email your name and talk title to lightning at bsdcan.org
or talk to us in person at the registration desk.

Deadline Friday June 19, 5pm to sign up. First come, first served!

On Friday shortly after 5pm, we'll let you know how much time you
have.

Slides:

Must be emailed to lightning at bsdcan.org before Saturday June 20,
9am.

Must be PDF, not powerpoint or keynote. We don't care what software
you use to make your slides; just export it to PDF.

We'll only be using one laptop for the presentations, so we need to
get your slides onto it ahead of time and in a format it can display.

     No "live demo" allowed, sorry.

Ideas for talks:

Are you hoping to recruit people to work on something with you? This
is your best chance to advertize why it's cool / useful / rewarding!

Are you working on a complicated problem, and want others to know
why it's hard? Give an overview of the subject for non-experts!

Are you starting an interesting project, but not ready to give a
full talk yet? Tease us with what you have so far!
